PROJECT SCOPE:
- Assess the structural and durability condition of the tail bay concrete structure, considering its age, exposure to soft water in the basin, and temperature variations from wetting and drying cycles.
- Conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and selected Destructive Testing (DT) techniques, including:
- Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) – to evaluate concrete uniformity and detect defects.
- Rebound Hammer (RH) – for surface hardness and compressive strength estimation.
- Steel Reinforcement Corrosion Monitoring (SRCM) – to assess reinforcement corrosion potential.
- Select and test two representative areas of the structure:
- Wall “W1” – structural wall section.
- Ground “G1” – slab/floor section.
- Analyse the collected data to determine overall concrete condition, structural integrity, and durability performance.
