PROJECT SCOPE:
- Council required a condition assessment of the concrete pool shell to be undertaken and reported while the pool was empty. The proposed approach and inclusions were as follows:
- The existing pool liner was to be removed by others; no major surface cleaning or pool shell repairs were to be carried out prior to the investigation.
- Site access and timing were to be coordinated with the appointed pool liner contractor; strict adherence to the program was required, with the investigation and report submission to be completed within approximately two weeks.
- The pool shell and associated structural elements were to be inspected and assessed with respect to:
- Structural strength and longevity
- Resistance to future movement
- Potential for future leakage
- Existing damage and recommended repair requirements
- Planned ongoing maintenance program
- Estimated remaining lifespan assuming recommended works and maintenance are implemented
- Estimated remaining lifespan without intervention and recommendations for future replacement
