PROJECT SCOPE:
- The project involved a comprehensive structural and condition assessment of the Griffith Water Treatment Plant and the Water Reclamation Plant (inlet structure only), with a focus on evaluating structural integrity, durability, and residual service life, and providing practical repair and remediation recommendations. Key activities included:
- Conducted detailed visual inspections of the interior and exterior of flocculation chambers, flotation tanks, clearwater tank, flash mixer chamber, filter water channel, and associated plant structures.
- Assessed and rated structural condition on a scale of 1 to 5 in accordance with the Inspection Guidelines for Condition Assessment of Concrete Structures (Water Corporation, Jan 2018).
- Documented visible defects with comprehensive photography and produced a detailed pictorial report.
- Carried out extensive Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Destructive Testing (DT) to determine deterioration levels and actual material properties; analysed results to estimate residual service life.
- Prepared a detailed discussion and assessment of structural and durability conditions.
- Developed practical repair and remediation recommendations based on assessment findings.
